Saw Eh Shoe

He runs Kwe Ka Baung Karen National School, a big name for a school with 400 plus students in a cramped couple of buildings behind the Mae Sot market.

Saw Eh Shoe took the MY STORY photo project teacher training course in 2009 and has just finished teaching his first photo workshop with 8 of his students. You can see their work at msppabsoh.blogspot.com.

These are some of his personal photos.

Working

Things like washing and cooking are labor intensive.

Collecting bottles, plastic, and cardboard to sell.

Grannies

It's lovely to be a 'grannie' here. Old people are respected and listened to, as wel asl being cared for by their families. And no one scolds you for smoking.

Children

This photo was taken during Thianjin, the annual April water festival. It happens during the hottest time of the year, just before rainy season starts.

Tanaka, an all-purpose cream made from the bark of the tanaka plant, cures everything from zits to sunburn, and will whiten your skin to boot.

Cow Market

Eh Soe spends a lot of time at the cow market, where animals are brought each weekend to be bought/sold and to fight.
